Short Lead Time
I am always shaking my head in
disbelief, that Clubs and Bars think a week out, or two weeks out with
flyers and a few radio spots, are going to pack their place for an event/
May I ask, "What Are They Thinking".
It also reminds me of so many
Nightclubs in Vegas, may I state for the record, right here, right now,
LAS VEGAS DOES NOT NEED ANYMORE NIGHTCLUBS.
Attention all Current and Potential
Future Club Owners in Vegas, you are in for the roughest ride of your
nightclub life.
Sadly, and Tragically every club is
not going to survive.
You can proclaim the Biggest Video
Wall, the most Sophisticated Sound System, the most Stylish VIP AREA, the
most Phenomenal Light Show, SO WHAT?
How do you expect to draw a crowd with
flyers, some radio spots and one week's worth of getting the word and just
using some myspace site.
When does it sink it, what your doing
is not working?

FREE LIQUOR SAMPLES, ( SO WHAT) AND LEARN NOTHING, TAKE AWAY NOTHING. THE

AT ALL.
THEY ARE GENERIC IN THEIR PRESENTATIONS.

Vegas nightlife is in a free fall, too many
clubs, way too much money invested in atmosphere, way too reliant on
bottle service, and way too much overhead.
What happened in Vegas was so many Nightclub
Visionaries used "OPM" to build and create their night life dreams, that
between the debt service on the investment and the overhead to operate
along with the lack of patrons, add the economic downturn and you have a
real potential for "Vegas Clubs in Vacancy Mode".
Despite the snake eyes situation in Vegas, "The
Mirage" just unveiled it's new updated and spectacular "Volcano".
When you spend $25million for a "Volcano Makeover",
you get a bigger, hotter, louder and thunderous new "Volcano".
The Soundtrack to this spectacle was created by
former Grateful Dead Drummer, Mickey Hart.
Stand back, because 120 fireballs flare in a lagoon
all around the "Volcano".
NO CHARGE to see this once a hour dusk to
dawn, EROTIC ERUPTION.
The problem with this "Volcano" is, hotel rooms in
Vegas are at bargain basement rates, they overbuilt, overdid, over killed
a great Mecca.
Now they are going to spend $30million on a MUSEUM
honoring the MOB GUYS like Bugsy who created Vegas.
Even The FBI is cooperating and participating to
insure that their Agency is accurately represented and portrayed.
Bugsy, I mean "BEN" would be

In Texas, a very nice Hispanic Restaurant
Owner, decides to buy a run down, awful reputation Nightclub, having no
knowledge of the night life industry, within four months he is on the
verge of closing the doors.
After 8 weeks of radio advertising, his Clear
Channel Radio Salesperson tells him "It takes time to work".
Nobody, Nobody, Nobody is showing up and
partying at his club.
His flyers, his radio spots all are totally
ineffective.
Sadly he will be closed by the end of this
month................................
He called me to tell me of
his plight and that he
was broke.
I am The Best at turning around bars, clubs and
lounges, but even I can't right side up the "Titanic".
How anyone can jump into this business with no
prior hands on experience, no first hand knowledge and no expert
consultation, defies common sense.
On New Year's Eve, he booked not one but two
bands in this economy, with a $5 cover charge.
Why, Why, Why?
I tried, I pleaded with him to help him, his
ego would not allow it.
