WHY DOES A GENTLEMEN'S CLUB OWNER ASK, A BAR MANAGER WITH NO 'REAL EXPERIENCE' TO DO THE MARKETING & PROMOTIONS?????????

  Hi! You have some very interesting and very valid points. I have recently become bar manager of a gentleman's club and would like to see more business flowing thru. I also have a passion for event planning but no real promotional experience. Another bartender is doing the marketing and I thought together we could get the place packed again. It actually is not doing bad but could always be better

This place is being restructured as we speak with new management  and there is no real  promotional work being done at this time. I see this is a great opportunity and would like to know more about promotional work. I look forward to hearing from you.

RESTRUCTING WITH NEW MANAGEMENT IS NOT GOING TO PACK THIS GENTLEMEN'S CLUB, NOT WHEN YOU ARE TOTALLY LACKING IN ANY EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, BACKGROUND OR EXPERTISE TO IMPLEMENT A SUCCESSFUL GENTLEMEN'S CLUB PROMOTION, THAT DOES NOT RELY ON CHEAP DRINKS, REDUCED COVER CHARGE OR SPECIALS ON LAP DANCES OR THE VIP ROOM.

THE REASON GENTLEMEN'S CLUBS HAVE SLOW NIGHTS IS THEIR TOTAL LACK OF FOCUS ON "THE FUN", "THE WOWSER" AND "THE FAB". THERE IS SO MUCH EMPHASIS ON THE BASICS, OWNERS AND MANAGERS HAVE NO GRASP OF THE CREATIVE.

I WISH IT WAS AS EASY AS SIMPLY EMAILING YOU "EXPERTISE", BUT I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE CLUB'S WEB PRESENCE IS, WHAT IT'S REPUTATION IS, WHAT IT'S DOWNSIDE IS, WHAT IT'S CUSTOMER PROFILE IS, ANDREA BEFORE YOU CAN PACK THIS CLUB, YOU HAVE NO KNOW THE ELEMENTS THAT YOUR FACING. I HOPE YOU RECONSIDER AND DETACH YOURSELF FROM TAKING THIS SIGNIFICANT UNDERTAKING ON.  GENTLEMEN'S CLUBS FOR NUMEROUS REASONS ARE FOREVER CHANGING MANAGEMENT. FIRST "RESTAURANT STAKEOUT", NOW "Mystery Diners" AMUSE ME!

Why would any Owner of a bar, club, sports bar, restaurant, lounge, pub, tavern, outdoor tiki bar, need to have Charles Stiles come in with cameras and some of his so called "operatives" to find out why your inventory is disappearing, your cash registers are coming up short and your losing money?????????

The "Food Network"Programmers must have never worked, managed, owned or consulted food, food and beverage establishments before.

Any Owner with half a brain, knows that hidden, surveillance Cameras, that are installed, when no staff is anywhere in sight,  no customers around, nobody in fact is around, are the key to finding out what goes on, when an Owner is not around.

The Company you use does not have it's name on the Trucks they park to install. It's done at an hour everyone is asleep.

I have advised hundreds of establishments how to implement

this "OVERSIGHT".

You can go to "Best Buy" and buy a complete Camera System for $200 and have it transmitted to your home monitors.

I don't recommend it, I URGE every Owner to do IT.  

You don't need to be humiliated on National Cable TV.

Cameras do not lie. Cameras hide. With today's technology, you can't even tell where a camera is. The Screens are set up in your home. The cost of the Camera Systems have dramatically declined over the years. Quite often you can barter out food and beverage as half the payment, and cash as the balance of the cost. Cameras are your eyes left behind, when you leave your establishment. They clearly show, when your being taken for a ride.The key is,where you place the cameras, where you aim the cameras. My name is Margo and I live in ____________. We are a very small city and we have only one strip club in the area. It is very nice and has great atmosphere and our girls are wonderful, however, we have been looking into doing more marketing and promotional work. We have ideas, contests and themes thought up and I have been hired to promote. I graduated from the Art School, with a Graphic Design degree, but haven't had much promo experience (unless I was a model).  The owner has hired me to promote for her because our GM who usually takes care of it has been overwhelmed with other responsibilities. I read articles on your site and was really impressed. I know you must be a busy man, but I could really use some advice on where I could get more information about marketing and promoting so I'm not getting in over my head. May be there are some web sites or articles you could direct me to that would be a great help. Any information for a beginner would be much appreciated! Thanks!!  Margo

IDEAS ARE EASY TO THINK OF, ACTUAL EXECUTION OF CONCEPTS ARE ANOTHER LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND BACKGROUND. BEING A "BEGINNER" MEANS YOU START @ THE BEGINNING, NOT BE THROWN INTO THE LIONS DEN WITH YOUR DEMISE A GIVEN.

 

  YOUR GM IS OVERLOADED WITH WORK, BUT YOU NEED MORE THAN ADVICE, YOU NEED EXPERTISE, WHICH YOU DO NOT HAVE. YOU CAN WASTE $19.99 ON THESE SO CALLED "HOW TO KNOW IT ALL TO PROMOTE @ CLUBS" BOOKS , BUT THEY ARE TOTALLY VOID OF ANY REAL DIRECTION. NO BOOK IS GOING TO GIVE YOU THE STREET SMARTS AND HANDS ON KNOW HOW TO PACK THIS STRIP CLUB.

I DON'T KNOW OF ANY WEB SITES THAT SPECIFICALLY ADDRESS WHAT YOU ARE IN NEED OF. I WOULD URGE YOU TO FULLY REALIZE YOU ARE "GETTING IN WAY OVER YOUR HEAD". THIS IS NOT WHERE A BEGINNER SHOULD START.

  TYPICAL CLUB PROMOTER MENTALITY

So I'm starting to promote at 2 places.

 

One is in a great location is established and has a huge outside

patio with plenty of seating it's on a TUESDAY night though,

(open til 1) our main competition is 3 blocks away and

1 & 1/2 hours away at ______ in ________ will definitely take

some business away from us due to the "celebrity DJs"

and people just wanting to leave the "city scene" for a night.

 

The second is another well established place but the venue is

smaller and  not outside area. The Plus side is

its a FRIDAY night other that's about it.

DON'T HAVE THE FIRST ORIGINAL, CREATIVE FORMULA TO ATTRACT VERY

HOT WOMEN, AND LOTS OF MEN WHO SPEND.

NO CLUB, NO BAR, NO SPORTS BAR, NO LOUNGE, NO RESTAURANT WITH NIGHT LIFE SHOULD NEED ANY CLUB PROMOTER ON ANY NIGHT, ESPECIALLY ON A FRIDAY NIGHT. AS FOR YOUR TUESDAY NIGHT DISASTER, HONESTLY, YOU SHOULD ADVISE THE CLUB TO CLOSE. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BUILD ON A NIGHT, THAT MOST CLUBS ARE CLOSED ON?

 

 BECAUSE IT IS AN INCONSEQUENTIAL NIGHT, THAT

TAKES AN EVENT LIKE "SKRILLEX" IN PERSON TO EVEN MAKE WORTH WHILE.

THIS IS WHY CLUB OWNERS SHOULD FOLLOW MY A TO Z IMPLEMENTATION, SO THAT THEY MAXIMIZE THEIR PROMOTIONS, RATHER THAN RELY ON, DEPEND ON, CROSS YOUR FINGERS ON, SO CALLED CLUB PROMOTERS.

WHEN YOU GIVE THEM A NIGHT YOU ARE ALREADY SLOW, ALL YOU ARE DOING IS RUNNING UP OVERHEAD, IN THE HOPES THIS BIG TALKER CAN REALLY WALK THE WALK. 99.9% YOU, DON'T BREAK EVEN.

THE WORSE CASE SENARIO EVER:

Rich,
Im in need of urgent help. I opened the biggest bar/grill/nightclub in 2009 in __________. Due to this city's policies, the first 17 months, we only served beer and food and back in Nov. 2010, we finally were able to sell liquor. We became the hottest live music venue in town, having live music & dj's on fri & sat, along with fashion shows. The bar ran successfully and reaped profits. Unfortunately, this lifestyle took it's toll and back in Sept 2011, me & my wife separated, eventually getting divorced in Feb 2012. Since then, police started harassing our customers on a regular basis and on numerous occasions shut the bands, citing bogus reasons. The main reason for this police behavior was my ex's brother, who is a Sergeant at the local police dept. These incidents forced and is still forcing people to stay away from our bar. Bands are refusing to perform anymore citing harassment. As a result of all this mess, we were forced to file lawsuit against the city and the police dept.
Our sales have drastically gone down since Jan 2012 and we are now at a point that we are seriously considering shutting down. The only thing that keeps us stay open and gives us hope is that we are still the biggest and nicest bar/nightclub in town and people love the place but they stay away because of the police. Our thinned out clientele doesn't allow us to generate any profits.
We need urgent help in coming up with a plan or promotional ideas to rescue this once highly profitable business. If possible, please reply at the earliest.

YOU CONTACT THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE AS WELL AS YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE CALLING FOR AN INVESTIGATION INTO YOUR EX BROTHER IN LAW'S POSSIBLE UNETHICAL AND ABUSE OF AUTHORITY.  YOU DO NOT NEED BANDS TO PROVIDE GREAT DANCE MUSIC.

YOU DO NOT SPEND ON RADIO, FLYERS, OR CLUB PROMOTERS.

YOU NEED TO BRING IN THE "WOWSER" THE "FUN" SO THAT LOCALS COME BACK TO YOUR CLUB. THIS IS NOT AN OVERNIGHT SENSATION.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE MINDSET, THE MONEY, OR THE DEDICATION LEFT TO TURN THIS CLUB AROUND, THEN YOU, AND ONLY YOU MUST DECIDE YOUR NEXT MOVE.

ME, I DON'T GIVE UP, I DON'T QUIT AND I DON'T CLOSE DOWN. I FIGHT BACK ON ALL FRONTS. LEGALLY, MEDIA WISE, AND OF COURSE CLUB ENERGY.

THE PAST IS THE PAST, THE PRESENT IS WHAT NEEDS IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

I REGRET THE SITUATION YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH PERSONALLY.

If the rest of you Owners would have faith, confidence, trust in 40 years, vs your current predictable, usual, stale format, you would actually experience first hand, the "WOW FACTORS" and the results they produce. You try this, you do that, you have no solid mind set, because you     were never shown the successful way to pack a bar, a bar and grill, a club, a pub, a lounge, a restaurant with nite life. Monty was an Owner who wanted to change, he knew it was time, he knew it would be a success. He had a positive attitude, and solid confidence in me. During this hot Summer, you can either suffer or succeed. The choice is yours.
