I spent $15,000 on radio, $5000 a month for three straight months,
a radio blitz, to support my half a million dollar renovation.
Yup, Great Location, Great Staff ( in the beginning) Great Atmosphere,

Radio pulled in exactly 50 people a weekend.
I was devastated.
My DJ kept pleading with me to contact you, but to be honest, my ego, pride,
stubbornness, you name it, I did not have any desire to contact you.
Sure, I reached out to "Bar Rescue", but then I thought, what was Jon Taffer
going to do to my club? It was brand new? What great nuggets of his insight
was he going to teach me?
My DJ has been in the biz 20 years, and knows it inside out, the problem was I
refused to listen to him.
He didn't want to be a promoter, he didn't want to be a manager, he just wanted
me to contact you.
I didn't until now.
Six Month later, wasted money beyond what my stomach could take, if I try to state
I relied on every club promoter I met.
Yes, You were right Rich. I listened to all the cash grabbers, who said do this, do that,
and I did, and nothing changed.
My Managers, were pure Power Players, they didn't have clue 1.
In the beginning they went through the motions of being hands on, and showing they cared,
but as the Club slowly disintegrated, they too lost their regard for my club.
Sure they took their paycheck each week, but did they earn a penny of it?

When your in a small metro area, with four colleges, and you don't even have packed nights of 500 ppl, but, rather just over 125 on your best nights, you offer them nothing but a DJ and a Hookah.
Then you wonder, what should I do?
Maybe add on 2500 more square feet?
Maybe add a Beer and Wine License?
Maybe add "FUN"?

BEN, Summer being slow had nothing to do with your business. In fact you just opened in November, you should of had a one year "Honeymoon". you did NOTHING to enhance your format. When an owner is a DJ as well as an Owner, ego is on the turn tables constantly. You have the largest bar in your area.
You now are using Friday Night Football and Bonfires as excuses for your bar not to do business.
Ben, even on the award winning hit TV show "FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS", Coaches, adults, fans, all ended up at bars after the game each Friday Night. Also, not everyone follows football. Your responses are all excuses. As I always say "I don't have advice". I have "EXPERTISE".
Your Face Book Page is awful, you have no constant updates, no Fresh FUN, your Halloween Event was nothing more than a Remote with a Radio Station, and a Costume Contest, both on a Saturday Night, totally ignoring the fact, that you had a weekend to do triple what you normally would do.
You have nothing going on that Friday Night.
You may not make it another Year, I take no joy in stating this, but you are on a runaway train, with no track miles ahead for your train to follow.
You should have emailed me in November, when you opened this club and I would have had you packed on a consistent basis four nights a week, and Sunday Nights, when Monday is a legal Holiday.
What are you doing for the Night Before Thanksgiving?
What are you doing for the Night Before Christmas Eve?
What are you doing for New Year's Eve?
Based on your size, these three nights alone are $100,000 in revenue.
But you will not come even close to taking in this kind of revenue, because for reasons I cannot understand, you are lost.
You refuse to take action.
You refuse to take back your nights.
You refuse to make changes that are clear and present.
You refuse to REINVENT your Format.
You refuse to consider hiring a Female DJ and put your ego away.
You refuse to stop booking the same bands over and over.
You refuse to charge a cover charge on a consistent basis,

The night club opened up on 10/11/2013.. The two nights we opened it was empty.

This whole week plans are to advertise and promote the club for the upcoming weekend events.
The owner is a _______________ resident from ___________. The location, the space, the whole team are great. All it is missing are the people.
Another issue is the location of the club.. The club is (21+) but the vibe(people) or demographic is not being seen in the city of ______. Every one is either below the required age or every one ends up going to attend the clubs or events else where. Because other locations in the City are where all that kind of club/ bar life is at. There are options, people are guaranteed good time out but not in________because it is not as populated.

What are your qualifications, experience, knowledge, background to assume such a position for a club, that is dying?
Jorge, the problem is, Owners pay people like you next to nothing, but give you a title, and responsibilities that you are not knowledge equipped to meet.
Owners simply want to pay as little as they can, think they are getting as much as they can from online presence, when in fact, the person they delegated these social media marketing mastering to, CAN'T DO IT, because they don't know how?
They are not Experts, sure they know how to use a Smart Phone, a Tablet, they know what Face Book is, they know how to post a simple post, but they have no grasp of empowering the Club's presence, impact, and response to what they attempt to post.
They are not Masters of Social Media Marketing.
Your business cards and flyers show a total disconnect from what your priorities should be.
You are in way over your head, as are hundreds if not thousands of young people who are glued to their smart phone, but are not even interested, nor savvy, nor sophisticated to pack the club they are the Master of Social Media Marketing for.
Using the words "Hip Hop" are the worse two words in the nightclub industry.
Majoring in Business Management is excellent, but you are far, far away from completion of the entire course. So you are taking the learn as you go approach, and the club is suffering because of it.

WHY WORK FOR A HOSPITALITY COMPANY, BUT ASK ME FOR HELP?
Currently I work for a hospitality company in ____________ in _____________, we own 5 separate businesses which are all very different. However we have 1 venue which is a sports bar by day and night club by night. We have recently taken this bar over and its current reputation is not satisfactory to the target segment, yet relies a lot on its locals.
We aren't a huge vibrant city, in fact we are a small province, yet there is without a doubt a huge gap in the market. The only thing lacking in our province is a vibrant nightlife.
The venue capacity is about 400 and we have just done some renovations to tidy the place up. It is rather dark due to there being no way of windows being installed into current walls. The outside of the bar backs on to a car park.
Any advice or promo ideas that a new, fun and original would be much appreciated.

KATE, BECAUSE YOU HAVE NEVER WORKED IN A SPORTS BAR TRANSFORMED NIGHTCLUB, YOU CANNOT GRASP,RELATE OR UNDERSTAND THE DAUNTING CHALLENGES THIS ESTABLISHMENT FACES.
IT MAY NOT MAKE IT. THERE ARE MAJOR, SIGNIFICANT TWEAKING AND FORMAT TIGHTENING THAT NEEDS TO BE APPLIED IN ORDER FOR THIS TO WORK.
KATE, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DO A PRESENTATION ADDRESSING THE SPECIFICS THAT THIS ONE LOCATION FACES?
KATE QUITE OFTEN SEEING THE PROBLEMS IS THE SIMPLE PART, REPLACING, REPAIRING, REINVENTING, RENEWING, READRESSING, REAPPLYING CHANGE IS THE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE PART.
YOU SHOULD SERIOUSLY CONSIDER WORKING EVERY SINGLE JOB IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT FROM THE BOTTOM UP ALA "UNDERCOVER BOSS", AND LEARN WHAT IT TAKES TO OPERATE, THEN YOU CAN UNDERSTAND FAR MORE EASILY THE OBSTACLES AND HOW TO REMOVE THEM.
