A beautiful Sushi Restaurant and Bar, 5,000 square feet, great Sushi, great Yelp Reviews.
The Bar has Zero Energy. Behind the bar the bottles are scattered with no Presentation.
The web site does not even mention the Bar.
The Face Book page shows a hideous picture of an empty bar with no one seated at it.
The Owner does not realize, they are losing easily $25,000 a Month Plus.
Just in liquor, beer, wine, and late nite bites revenue.
The most frustrating situation is, this Owner does not understand Nightlife, how to implement it, so an DJ is featured on weekends, which creates no business. A live Jazz Band on one night, again no attendance.
It is not just what you present but, the context in which you present it, how far in advance you market your nights, what your format is, and how you implement social media marketing. All of these dynamics are paramount to SUCCESS in NIGHTLIFE.
It's "ALL ABOUT THE WOW".

"THE WOW" in targeting Movers, Shakers, and a Quality Crowd.

Sure there is a Super DJ, who incorporates "Cake" in his Performance, that' fine, but The Comedian "Gallagher", has been doing that for 30 years.
What makes this DJ a stand out is his Original Mixes, Spins and Style.
86 The "Cake" and you still have a "GREAT" DJ.
Back to the "FEM SPINS", yes they all are sensual, sexual, but that is the nature of Female DJs.
For once instead of the Tshirt wearing, baseball cap turned backwards attitude behind the decks, bring in the "FEM SPINS" and "PAULY D".
What a difference a "RICHIE RIGHT DJ" makes vs attitudes, egos.
Let them "SET THE BEAT".
But don't just feature these DJs, it's all inclusive to have "FUN" and "WOW FACTORS" as in "Themes", "Parties", "Celebrations", "Gatherings", "Happenings, "Contests", "Concepts", The biggest mistake Vegas Clubs make are totally being reliant on the DJ of the Night. No other ingredient to their Format. HUGE OVERSIGHT.
You don't just feature a DJ and ignore the entire wrap around format.

FEDORAS, NEW STYLES OF HAT LIKE PHARRELL WORE ARE THE WAY TO FASHIONIZE DJs Look.
Why should DJs violate Club Dress Codes by wearing slob clothes, when the very Guests, they are spinning for, must meet the standard of a Dress Code?
when DJs are making $1000 to $100,000 a Night, why shouldn't they dress to show their style, and their trademark mixes?
Why can't DJs be cool, not curse and talk trash to their club crowd?
What happened to Club Cool, Club Charm, Club Charisma?
Throwing Cake @ Guests The Comedian "GALLAGHER" created that "move", years and years ago.
DJs today should have a Bass Guitar Player w them, a Drummer w them, Dancers w them, a Bongo Player w them, " A Show within a DJ Gig".
Vegas is overpaying DJs by tens of thousands of dollars, because of the DJ WAR to book the "Super Spins."
But it's not necessary.
It's not warranted.
It's not practical.
Vegas Clubs can do just as much daylife cash and nightlife revenue, without all the high priced mix masters.
I took "AMNESIA" on South Beach, 30,000 square feet without a roof on it, and packed it on Thursday Nights @ a $20 Cover Charge with a young unknown DJ who was dynamic, who was essential, who was dialed in to packing that dance floor. That is what a Club DJ is all about.
He dressed sharp, spoke smooth on the wireless headset mic, got out from behind the wheels of steel and interacted with the Crowd.
All on my instructions and direction.
What makes a Club Successful are Hot Women working there and very Hot Women as guests. Who pay the cover, who pay regular price for drinks, who gravitate to this club, because I made it "WOW".
We only had 1 Male Host to handle any issues with almost 1000 ppl on Thursday Nights.
I was doing the exact same format up in Sarasota, Florida on Wednesday Nights, so i was being driven to SOBE for the Thursday Night Gig.
I was not a Club Promoter, I am a Club Expert.
I did not take Door Money, I did not have a Guest List. My Focus was on attracting beautiful Women and Men who spend.
Dress Code, absolutely, I had male guests, leaving going home putting some "Style on", and returning to enter the club.
When you let anyone, dressed any way they want in, just to get bodies in your bar or club, you create the worse possible potential for problems, trouble, and violence.
Too Many Owners are so conflicted, and confused, because all they want is the $, ill regardless of the downside.
Too Many Owners are set in their ways, which are "THE WRONG WAYS".
Too Many Owners curse, scream, drink too much, hit on their own staff, and are a disgrace to the Industry.
There are 5 kind of Owners:
A. The Owner who drinks at the Club he owns, hits and harasses his Female Staff, curses, and acts like a complete jerk.
B. The Owner who wants to tell everyone he owns a club, or is a Partner in a club, and does nothing right, knows zero about owning a club, but wants the ego of being an Owner known.
C. The Owner who is never there, he owns the club, but never or rarely comes in, which leaves the Staff to do as they please, with no Structure in place, I don't know why this kind of Owner is even an Owner to begin with.
D. My Kind of Owner, a hands on, no nonsense, polite but firm Owner who is in it to WIN IT, and wants to pack their club four nights a week, without giving away the Cover Charge, without wasting time or money on Club Promoters, but does not drink at his club, rather he is all business, but polite and professional, that is the kind of Owner I give my Expertise to.
E. Finally, there are "THE PARTNERS", a group that can't agree on anything, changes everything overnight, policies, advertising, music spun, drink specials, free cover, they argue, they fight, they often don't talk to one another, they drink at the club, they have no regard for anyone or anything. YUCK..............................
When I and My Partner owned the largest Club in Florida, his Father said to me " Go sit on a bar stool as a customer and think like a customer, order a drink". SO, I sat down at the bar, ordered a drink.
Then he said " Now get up and go behind the bar and be an Owner/Bartender, make some drinks for the servers, and the customers".
So, once again, I did as I was told.
I went behind the bar, acted like a service bartender made some drinks for a Cocktail Waitress, then made more drinks for guests sitting at the bar.
He finally said to me, "Did you see, did you feel, the difference between being a Guest and being a hands on Owner?"
I had to admit, it was an entirely different emotion, from in front of the bar, to behind the bar. Two different Worlds, that far too often Owners don't grasp.
My Partner and I worked seven days a week, we loved it, we were packed, I created, Concept after Concept, Promotion after Promotion, I put together a 9 piece house band, had a red hot DJ up in the booth in the sky as well.
We sold the Club a year later for almost twice what we paid for it.
Two buyers were drooling to own our club.
When we sold out, our Southern Wine & Spirits Salesman conveyed to us, what the other clubs and bars that he serviced said. "Thank GOD they are gone, now maybe we all can make some $ ". We Were The Club Conquerors, We emptied out all the competition.
Remember, there are only so many People in your area that go out, so when you start being packed, other clubs, bars are going to be empty.
That is all I know how to do. I love it. It comes so easy to me.

Way too many Bars, Clubs, even Restaurants, and Sports Bars simply rely on Face Book as their entire Social Media Marketing.
The Person responsible for the Postings want to just get it out of the way, so they post a drink special, a live band, a DJ appearance, but the posts are boring, dull, lack any type of connection, even when the Bar, Club, Restaurant or Sports Bar has over 1000 friends.

Why don't you have your own Web Site?
Because, You think it is way too expensive, you don't think it will have any impact that results in financial return, so you just rely on Face Book.

I notice even Premier Clubs in Major Cities have Social Media Employees who are lame, lazy, and lax in their responsibilities of insuring they are maximizing the web to their Club's advantage. But they aren't.

WHY FLYERS NO LONGER WORK FOR ANY HOSPITALITY VENUE:
Newspapers are online, Magazines are online, why would you print up flyers and have some so called club promoter or your own staff hand out flyers, it's not 1970, it's 2014. Flyers are totally ineffective.
I have created a concept for an "Online Flyer" that even most Vegas Clubs do not even implement. Flyers, even with coupons do not produce bodies in your bar, your club, your restaurant, even your gentlemen's club.
With all of the Social Media Marketing, Apps, Texts, how can you even consider "flyers" as having any viable result driven ability?
They are WORTHLESS
WHY "LADIES DRINK FREE" NIGHTS NO LONGER ARE PRACTICAL:
WOMEN ARE MAKING MORE INCOME THAN EVER BEFORE, THEY ARE SPENDING MORE MONEY THAN THEY HAVE IN YEARS.WHY WOULD YOU GIVE LADIES FREE DRINKS WHEN THEY CAN PAY FOR THEIR OWN DRINKS? WHY ENCOURAGE THEM TO DRINK FOR FREE FROM 10PM TO 11PM, AND THEN HAVE THEM SO BUZZED, THEY LEAVE?
WHY OFFER THEM FREE DRINKS AT ANY HOURS?
IF YOU CAN'T ATTRACT WOMEN INTO YOUR BAR WITHOUT GIVING THE BAR AWAY YOU HAVE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
STOP begging Women to come in, and start romanticizing them.
STOP thinking, that the price of the cover charge or a drink is going to make the difference to Young Professional Women, and Women who have disposable income, IT'S NOT.
WOMEN WANT FUN, THEY WANT "WOW", THEY WANT "FAB", AND YOU FAIL TO DELIVER ON ANY OF THESE THREE "FANTASTIC FORMATS."

Finally, Using Club Promoters, I know of a Club Owner who is reliant on club promoters for every single night he is open.
At the end of each night, this Club Owner should ask himself, "What is this club promoter doing, that I can't do?"
With this Night Life Economy so tight, what is the reason you give your cover charge, which goes to pay for the entertainment in your club, away?
Why do you just receive the "Bar Cash", when it's your club, you own it, you have to pay all the bills, all the expenses, all the overhead, but yet, you give away one of the main resources of your cash flow. There is NOTHING that a so called club promoter can do, that you the Owner, your Manager, and your Staff cannot do BETTER.
Add up all the cash you give to these club promoters, that they are not paying taxes on, that your responsible for, and think about all that money you are giving away?
