   For the past 40 Years, I have written this "Annual List of Nightclub, Bar, Restaurant, Sports Bar, Gentlemen Club, Bar & Grill "PROMOLUTIONS".

I hold nothing back. My only Priority is "Making your Venue the Best it can be".
This is not an easy Business to operate in. In fact too many people think it's "FUN", "Easy"," Fast Money", and then they WOKE UP ! 
So based on the feedback and front line Problems I am contacted about, read about, hear about, know about, here are your 2015 "PROMOLUTIONS".
DO THEM, COMMIT TO THEM, OPERATE BY THEM  :
A. Owners, you may have met your Wife in your bar, when she worked for you. But now, you do not hit on, you do not date, you do not romance "The Staff".
B. Owners, you will stop thinking that Club Promoters are your answer. They are your problem. Stop relying on Strangers with no insurance, no license to operate, no office, nothing to make them legit, and you think they are going to bring the "RIGHT CROWD" into your bar or club? You could NOT be more wrong.
You start promoting events in your Bar, Club, Sports Bar, Gentlemen's Club, Restaurant w Nightlife, even in Dive Bars. It's time Owners stopped making excuses, and started showing they care about their business. You promote no less ever, than a full Month in advance, all three elements, Online, In House, Around your Community.
C. You will put up a Web Site, not just a simple page. Never have so many Food and Beverage Owners chose to rely on Face Book solely, to save money, by not having what is NOW MANDATORY, your own web page. I repeat, Your Very Own Web Site.
D. You will take Wednesday Nights, and for eight straight weeks,  you host "CATWALKS" & "LINGERIE". A packed Week Night. A Night you would not even open, because nobody would show up, until now. 
E. Your Bar will now feature www.shotpakinc.com SHOTS, no more JELLO Shots, Yuck, no more Test Tube Shots, OY, bring out the best, the latest in serving, in selling Shots. "SHOTPAKS", they are a shot in a pouch with a straw,but they taste amazingly good. It's a fresh approach to a very old form of putting a Beautiful Young Lady on the Floor to sell drinks. But "Shotpak" sells itself. It's diverse, it's unique, it's "NEW", and perfect for you.
F. You will stop listening to every Radio, Print, Direct Mail, Advertising Sales Person to call on you, just simply wish them a Happy New Year and say bye bye.

G.  You will stop booking the same local bands, who dress like slobs, drink on stage, never learn new material, and do not even justify a cover charge.
H.  You will not tolerate employees who are constantly late, always on their cellphones, not giving 100% to your business.
I. You will paint, carpet, clean, replace, and RENEW your place, instead of letting it appear run down and run out.
J. You will stop leaving your bar to others to operate, never being on the premises, so therefore you have lost total control of your bar.
K. You will review your Manager's performance, dedication, and ability to Manage, if he or she is not giving their best, it's time to find a new Manager.
L. You will feature "SPARKLING ICE" the fresh new "Lemonade with a sparkling Twist" beverage, that will out sell every other non alcoholic brand you offer.
M. You will start offering FOOD at your bar, and stop thinking you need a kitchen, because you don't to serve great tasting, great presentation small plates.
N. You will take out the punching bag and other lame video and amusement games, either put in fresh new video challenges, or don't feature any.
O. You will ask your ENERGY DRINK PROVIDER, either step up and provide me with bar stools, umbrellas, creative signs, banners, and sponsorship $ or you, will find an energy drink that will.
Q. You will take down all your beer neons, this is not 1998, you don't need those hideous neons up, they are so outdated. They serve no purpose. And the beer signs as well. They are so cheesy. YUCK.
R. You will offer a new "DRINK MENU" , that features Craftinis, Beertinis, combinations, you never thought patrons would order, but are, and paying premium prices for them.
S. You will roll out "XTREME BOTTLE SERVICE", it's the latest, innovative method to increase your "Bottle Service" revenue.
T. You will put your employees in Uniforms, why should they wear what they want, so that patrons can't even tell who works there, who is a customer?
U. You will never ever put up Job Ads on your Face Book Page or your Web Site, it diminishes your entire page or site to try to hire, when you want to lure people in.
V. You will not offer Ladies cheap drinks or free cover anymore, Women can pay for their own drinks, and they also know how to have a male patron buy them a drink why should you the bar give them free or cheap drinks?
W. You will require your staff to clean the ice machine out, the soda gun holders, the liquor bottle pourers, you will serve fresh fruit in your drinks.
X. You will have a Monthly CLEAN OUT, where every employee shows up, they are offered a free meal and two free drink coupons of their choice, in exchange for cleaning the fans, the glass, the floors, the beer coolers, the walk ins, that's right CLEAN!!
Y. Your DJ will dress up not down, not play any hard core hip hop, not curse on the mic, not allow people in his booth or area, and he will wear a wireless headset mic, to interact with your patrons on the dance floor.Your DJ will not use the Words "hip hop" in any context, rather replace them, with "POP HOP", the genre I created.If he won't then hire, hire a female DJ. Seek and ye shall find a "FEM SPIN".
Z. You will capitalize on and celebrate every Holiday, with Food, Decor, Drink, Music, FUN, and most of all "WOW".

MY RESPONSE:
No such Book that addresses your specific challenges, in your exact Community, with your realistic demographics, EXISTS.
Generic books exist, but offer no defining Expertise that is going to lead you out of the Forest into the Nightlife World.
Izzy, your right, all of your efforts are outdated, and ineffective. Your first year, should be a "Honeymoon".Your FB, Radio, Poster Flyers, Invitation Cards, are meaningless.
You do not even have your own Web Site for this club.
It won't take time, it happens instantly, when you do every facet of the strategies RIGHT.
Your not doing anything right.
Creating a Data Base for Emails and SMS should of been started the night you opened, not three months later.
Izzy, too many people enter the "Bar & Club Business" who should not.
You have so many negatives, unless you are prepared to stop what your doing, and REPOSITION your GAME PLAN, I regret you are not going to make it.
I wish you a successful New Year. I did call you, left a voice mail with detailed direction, but you failed to call me back.
I am undaunted, I tried to reach out.
But what you want, does not happen by me sending you a response email.

                     FIRST, WITHOUT KNOWING WHERE YOUR LOCATED, I CANNOT EVEN BEGIN TO FORMULATE A VALID RESPONSE. THE FACT THAT YOU FEATURED "DANCERS", "FOXY BOXING" AND "CONTESTS" SHOWS ME A PATTERN OF PANIC PROMOTING, THAT CANNOT PROVIDE OR PRODUCE THE MUCH NEEDED EXTRA REVENUE YOU SOUGHT IN ORDER TO COVER THE COST OF THE EVENT, BECAUSE IT WAS NOT PROPERLY PROMOTED, PRODUCED, OR PRESENTED.
YOU CONTINUE TO LOSE MONEY, YOU REFUSE TO EMBRACE CHANGE, YOU WON'T EVEN OFFER CRAFT BEERS? YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT RADIO VS RESULTS YOU ARE GETTING, BECAUSE THE RADIO SALESPERSON IS SCHMOOZING YOU TO PICK UP THE CHECK, AND NOT GIVING A DARN ABOUT MAKING SURE THE RIGHT SPOTS ARE RUNNING AT THE RIGHT TIMES, WITH THE RIGHT CONTENT, BECAUSE RADIO DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.
IT DID IN IT'S GLORY DAYS, BUT THOSE ARE LONG GONE. IT'S 2015, I WOULD URGE YOU TO CONTACT ME DIRECTLY, SO THAT I CAN "INVIGORATE" YOUR ESTABLISHMENT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.

Which American cities are attracting the most college graduates? Traditionally, young people were often drawn to metropolises and financial powerhouses like New York and Washington D.C. These days, however, many are choosing to move to smaller places that are more challenging economically.
Take Buffalo, New York as a prime example. Despite the fact that almost 30 percent of people are living below the poverty line, the city still experienced a 34 percent change in the number of college graduates living there from 2000 to 2012. Houston, Nashville and Denver are also flourishing college graduate boom towns with percentage increases of 50, 48 and 47 percent respectively.
College Nights are a Must!
But not in the format of all you can drink or cheap drinks, take the focus off the bar and place it firmly on "THE WOW". The Millennials in College want unique Craft Beers, they want an
exceptional atmosphere, with very friendly staff.
They want music that is not common but original.
When you own a bar in a College Town, refrain from attracting the drunk dive Crowd.
Go for the Quality College Crowd, they attract far
more hot Women, than the "Cheap Drink" bars.

Finally, A Story that is Factual and Must Be Told
 A very successful, Free Standing Restaurant, located near a major Mall, closes down due to the Death of the Major Partner. A Visionary who
knew the restaurant business from A to Z.
So new Owners come in, what do they do:
Change the name: HUGE MISTAKE
Change the menu & raise prices: Two Disaster Decisions.
Start running Newspaper ads with no format, no appeal, just listing dishes and prices: Institutional Print Ads are OVAH. Nobody is coming in.
Not Offering Unique Priced Lunch Menu: you totally destroyed your local lunch biz.
For New Year's Eve, everything is A La Carte, and they do not extend the NYE Experience to after Midnight, they close @ 10pm.
They ignore the Sports Crowd.
They ignore the entire bar scene.
They ignore attracting Mall Employees, since there is no other venue like theirs anywhere near this major Mall.
They use a name by adding the word "Grill" to a very popular eatery that already has the same name.
They have no "FOCUS", not Lunch, not Happy Hour, not Sunset Specials, not Dinner Hours, and they totally ignore Nightlife.
I sadly, unfortunately give them six months, then the doors close.
This all should of been, could have been averted.
