APRIL 2017 - MAKE YOUR BAR GREAT AGAIN!
So, you went to the "Vegas Bar Show" AGAIN.........................
Now, you back in your "BAR", what did you take away from the Show?
Besides, all the Free "SWAG", from the liquor, beer, energy drink, and almost every other vendor there, what Seminar, what Booth, what "WOW", what "FUN", what "FAB", did you bring back to your "BAR" to MAKE YOUR BAR GREAT AGAIN?
Rarely does anyone come back with more than one or two Products, or possibly Promotions, that they heard about, learned about, and now want to "IMPLEMENT THEM".
But this time, with these "VEGAS TAKE AWAYS", what are you going to do, insuring they are a success?
You see the "Vegas Bar Show ", is suppose to make you $$$$$$$$$$.
At least, that's what they scream @ you attending for.
So, with that in mind, again I ask, what are you prepared to do, to "MAKE YOUR BAR GREAT AGAIN"?
You have seen a significant decline in business and traffic.
New Bars have opened up that have stolen all of your thunder.
You have all but given away your bar prices, just to attract faces.
Ok, now what?
You've been to Vegas, you sat through Seminars, you walked the Exhibition Area, you went to Vegas Clubs, you eat, drank, had a blast, but NOW WHAT?
You have spent all that $ to make it a "WORKING VACATION", so what are you going to do, that is so "FRESH", so "PULSATING", that you will be wall to wall packed?
You never duplicate what you see, learn and hear in Vegas, you "TWEAK" you "TAILOR IT", you "ADAPT" to fit your Community, your Guests, your Format.
Bar Owners come back from the "Vegas Bar Show" and are filled with "GUSTO". That's fine, but be realistic, you don't simply copy, to advance.
You make it YOURS and then you OWN IT.

STRIKING THE RIGHT BALANCE OF RESTAURANT VS NIGHTLIFE
I DON'T KNOW WHY SO MANY RESTAURANT OWNERS THAT HAVE A BAR, FIND IT SO DIFFICULT TO ROLL OUT THEIR NIGHTLIFE, WHEN THEIR FOOD SERVICE ENDS @ 10PM?
THEY HAVE THE BAR, THEY CAN MOVE TABLES, THEY CAN FEATURE EITHER A DJ OR A LIVE BAND OR BOTH.
THEY CAN DO TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM WEDNESDAY TO SATURDAY NIGHT, EVERY MONTH.
YET, THEIR RELUCTANCE IS ONLY COSTING THEM ALL THIS CASH FLOW.
LOOK, YOU PUT GUESTS IN DINING CHAIRS, IT'S JUST AS EASY, IF NOT EASIER TO PUT THESE SAME GUESTS AND ADDITIONAL GUESTS IN BAR STOOLS.
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE STYLE, THE SOPHISTICATION, THE ATMOSPHERE, THE MUSIC, THE ENERGY YOU PROJECT WITH YOUR NIGHTLIFE.
A COVER CHARGE, ABSOLUTELY.
A DRESS CODE WITHOUT QUESTION.
A UNIQUE DRINK MENU OF COURSE.
A LATE NIGHT BITES MENU YES.
LOTS OF FEMALE STAFF, DUH!
I MEAN, THIS IS A WALK IN THE PARK.
THE STYLISH ATMOSPHERE FOR NIGHTLIFE IS EASY TO CREATE.
THIS IS SO EASY FOR ME TO IMPLEMENT.
I HAVE DONE THIS FOR RESTAURANTS OVER 40 YEARS.
YOU GO FROM DINE TO DANCE AND WHAT AN ENHANCE TO YOUR REVENUE.
ARE YOU READY YET?
THEN EMAIL RichUnger@promotingnightclubs.com
UNLEASH "THE POWER OF "WOW" IN YOUR BAR !
Why do you offer darts, trivia, karaoke, beer pong ( ewww) every week, in the same format, with the same patrons, spending the amount of $, never having "GREAT WEEKNIGHTS", but rather RE-SET" your bar.
That's right, improve, increase, implement, FRESH NEW "WOW".
How do you expect your bar's revenue, your bar's customers, your bar's reputation, image, format, atmosphere, to change, if all you keeping doing is "THE SAME"?
You can hold your daily pity party about how the bar down the street is a "dive bar", packed all the time.
Do you want those customers, some of whom are even underage?
In FACT, most "dive bars" have a ratio of NINE MEN to every ONE WOMAN Customer.
Did you forget "GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN", but yet, your bar offers them "NONE".
You think cheap drinks, free drinks are going to draw in Women.
Is that really the kind of customer you want to attract for that specific marketing pitch?
Starting in 2017 Bars are closing @ a faster rate than ever before in the industry in the past 30 years.
Because they remain stagnant, stale, predictable, boring.
Is that YOU?
I know of a Bar/Club Two Brothers own, they still use the local radio station for weekend business.
They offer NOTHING, NOTHING "WOW" @ all.
They complain their numbers are not UP, but they do NOTHING to increase them.
RADIO, NEWSPRINT, are WORTHLESS compared to the latest Branding, Marketing, Advertising that you should be all over.
For every $1 you spend in attempting to attract guests into your bar, you should generate $10.
You can justify doing nothing?
But you can't justify doing something?
And you wonder why you have challenges paying your bills?
SERIOUSLY, I'm just saying, you are thinking wrong, doing wrong, and from your Staff to your Customers, everybody is suffering.

FAST TIPS. IGNITING YOUR CURRENT SOCIAL MEDIA IMPACT
A. FOCUS ON INFLUENCERS, PEOPLE IN YOUR COMMUNITY, WHO OTHERS FOLLOW TO WATERING HOLES, TO UPBEAT BARS, TO UPSCALE EATERIES, TO UNIQUE NIGHTLIFE ADVENTURES.
B. POSITION YOUR BAR, CLUB, RESTAURANT, SPORTS BAR, LOUNGE, AS A "LIFESTYLE PLACE".
IN SIMPLE TERMS, YOUR ATMOSPHERE, YOUR SERVERS, YOUR DRINKS, YOUR BEERS, YOUR MENU, YOUR ENTIRE IMAGE IS THAT TARGETING POTENTIAL PATRONS WHO EMBRACE YOUR CHOICE OF "LIFESTYLE PLACES".
C. GO WHERE YOUR COMMUNITY SOCIALIZES ON SOCIAL MEDIA.
DON'T JUST POST ON FACE BOOK, MAKE IT AN IMPACT VIDEO.
VIDEO IS THE #1 SOURCE FOR ONLINE MARKETING. PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO READ IT, THEY DON'T WANT PICTURES, THEY WANT TO VIEW IT IN MOTION.
SO GO WHERE YOUR DEMOGRAPHICS GO. POST EXCITING VIDEOS.
D. KEEP IT SIMPLE, DON'T BE BLAND, BUT DON'T BE OVER THE TOP.
THERE'S A SOCIAL MEDIA BALANCE IN REACHING BAR PATRONS, DINING GUESTS, SPORTS FANS, BEACH LOVERS, EXOTIC DANCER FANS, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE "K I S" METHOD.
"KEEP IT SIMPLE".
DON'T COPY COMPETITION, KEEP IT ALWAYS AUTHENTIC!
DID you know in New York City, in order to have "DANCING", you must have a "CABARET LICENSE". If I had a bar in NYC, and my Guests wanted to dance, I would let them. This is outrageous. In a City that never sleeps, bars, clubs, lounges, must obtain a so called "Cabaret License"?
Not at my bar. Here is the Official Language and Requirements:
Any room, place, or space in New York City in which patron dancing is permitted in connection with the restaurant business or a business that sells food and/or beverages to the public requires a Cabaret license.
This description is only a general explanation of which businesses need to have a Cabaret license.
Additional City Permit You Need
- Your business must hold a current New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Food Service Establishment Permit in good standing before you can apply for a Cabaret license.
Before You File Your DCA License Application:
- Premises Approval by the Fire Department
You must receive premises approval from the Fire Department (FDNY) in order to obtain a Cabaret license. Complete the Application to Request an Inspection/Recommendation and DCA will forward your request to FDNY. FDNY will notify DCA of your inspection results. Please note that if you fail the inspection, it is your responsibility to correct problems.
- Community Board Review
DCA will submit a copy of your Application to Request an Inspection/Recommendation to the Community Board where your premises will be located. The Community Board has 45 days to respond and their feedback will be taken into consideration in the review of your license application.
- Electrical Inspection
The premises must be in compliance with all current electrical building codes. Please obtain ONE of the following as proof of an electrical inspection:
- A copy of a statement from a licensed electrician, on official business letterhead, stating that the premises comply with all current electrical building codes OR
- A current copy of the Certificate of Occupancy issued by the Department of Buildings (DOB) dated within 90 days of application submission. Note: A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy is not an acceptable proof of an electrical inspection.
- Applicable Business Certificates based on your Business's Legal Structure (Although DCA does not require submission of these documents in order to process your application in person or online, DCA reserves the right to request and examine the documents under section 20.104 of the New York City Administrative Code.)
- Sole Proprietorships operating under a name other than your own must file a Business/Assumed Name Certificate with the clerk of the county in which your business is conducted.
- Sole Proprietorships doing business under your own name—and not under a trade or Doing-Business-As (DBA) name—do not need a Business Certificate.
- General/Business Partnerships must file your Partnership Certificate with the clerk of the county in which your business is conducted.
- Corporations, Limited Partnerships, Limited Liability Companies, or Limited Liability Partnerships must register and remain active with the New York State Department of State. Active status will be verified by DCA prior to license issuance. You can confirm the status of your business entity at NYS Web site. If applicable, you must also file an Assumed Name Certificate for your business.
- Businesses incorporated out of state must obtain a Certificate of Doing Business in Good Standing from your home state’s Secretary of State and file this with an application for Authority to Conduct Business in New York with the New York State Secretary of State.
- Important: Your business must resolve any outstanding Environmental Control Board (ECB) violations before you file an application. For information about obtaining clearance or paying fines, visit the DCA Licensing Center at 42 Broadway, 5th Floor, in Lower Manhattan, call 311, or visit the ECB Web site
