One year, a Restaurant with a bar Owner, called me for my "New Year's Eve" Concept. I provided him with it.
New Year's Day, he called me to tell me, "In the 14 Years, I have owned __________________________(Name) we have never ever had a NYE like we did last Night, THANK YOU RICH".
Now this is word for word, FACT.
But this NYE CONCEPT takes, blood, sweat, tears, and then "POUNDING THE STONE", which means a relentless, tenacious, consistent attitude of Implementation, follow-through and Execution.
Remember, what one of the Most COURAGEOUS Men In this World said " It's only Impossible, until it's done".
Rich, Just opened, did a lot of pre opening marketing, but sales are not picking up as they should. Your Thoughts?
First, I did a A to Z search for your establishment on every search engine, on every Social Media Element, and could not find your place listed anywhere?
I don't know "WHAT PRE OPENING MARKETING" you did, but as you said "Sales were not picking up as they should".
You did not capture, nor captivate your Market. When you "Just Open" you should have a ONE YEAR HONEYMOON of being packed, providing, you have done everything right.
You are a FRESH new "FAB, FUN, WOW" Place to enjoy a drink with small plates, dance the night away, and have an atmosphere, that is filled with Never Before Seen "Lights, Video, Sound, Dancers, Dance Tops, Interactive DJ, a Place that gives off all Positive, and Sensational Vibes.
You did not even come close to this plateau, based on your bummed out remark.
None of your entire format was "BIG, BOLD or MEMORABLE". YOU did NOTHING FRESH.
Now you go through the "MONEY MONTHS" with a major disadvantage. You have had no success in your marketing attempts, your branding buys, your advertising paths.
You had no "INSPIRATION, in whatever you did.
The Method of launching a new Bar, Restaurant, Club, is to "GROW GUEST SATISFACTION" , it's what you do best. Yet you did not even come close, based on your remarks.
I would need to see what you did, where, how, when, why, and the financial investment made in your efforts?

I have read your website so many times, I am one of the managers of a nightclub, we have 3 floors and 4 bars and hold 3,000 people!
We are the latest place open in town, everywhere else shuts at 4am we close at 6am.
we find it very hard to get people in early, no matter what we do, we have previously basically given free drinks away (2for1 drinks) and still didn't get them in early.
the only way we get them in is when we spend thousands of money in big events in which we cant always do.
we do have different door entry promotions on, again it doesn’t get people in earlier.
don't get me wrong we do get busy at 4am but we want them earlier!!!

ROARK CAPITAL GROUP IS LOOKING TO BUY "WINGS"
Private-equity firm Roark Capital Group has made a takeover bid valued at more than $2.3 billion for Buffalo Wild Wings, according to The WSJ.
People familiar with the matter told The WSJ that Roark offered more than $150 a share in recent weeks. That’s above the chain’s market value of $117.30 per share or $1.84 billion. Why is ROARK CAPITAL GROUP offering such a high stock price to acquire "Buffalo Wild Wings"?
The deal is already in the works, the source said. Investment bankers at Barclays PLC are working with Roark, while Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is advising Buffalo Wild Wings.
Roark Capital Group is no stranger to the restaurant industry. In July, the firm announced it was acquiring Alabama-based Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q for an undisclosed amount.
Roark’s portfolio includes Arby’s, CKE Restaurants (parent company of Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s), Corner Bakery, FOCUS Brands (Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Carvel Ice Cream, Cinnabon, McAlister’s Deli, Moe’s Southwest Grill, and Schlotzsky’s), Il Fornaio, Jimmy John’s, Miller’s Ale House, and Naf Naf Grille. Massage Envy and Pet Retail Brands (owner of Pet Supermarket and Pet Valu) are among Roark’s other brands.
I am very impressed with "Roark's Entire Portfolio", it is diverse, it has mostly very "Profit Producing" Fast and Casual Foodies.
Overall, Roark has invested in 60 multi-unit companies and 20 restaurant brands. Before Jim ‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q, Roark’s most recent acquisition took place in September when it purchased a majority stake in sandwich chain Jimmy John’s.
"Jimmy John's" is a very formidable challenge to "Subway".
I drove by a "Jimmy John's" in a downtown area, and there were over 20 bikes parked out front, ready to roll Lunch Deliveries.
News sent Buffalo Wild Wings’ shares soaring more than 26 percent in late trading. The stock closed at $117.25 before jumping to $150 in after-hours action.
Buffalo Wild Wings, founded in 1982 and public since 2003, has more than 1,200 locations around the globe. In the third quarter, the company reported a net earnings decrease of nearly 20 percent as its cost of sales rose to 30.8 percent of restaurant sales from 28.9 percent during the same quarter last year. Buffalo Wild Wings posted adjusted earnings per share of $1.36. Same-store sales decreased 2.3 percent at company-owned restaurants and fell by 3.2 percent at franchise locations. Overall sales rose by 0.5 percent to $473 million while revenue also increased 0.5 percent to $496.7 million.
Chicken wing prices have clipped the brand in recent quarters. Buffalo Wild Wings said traditional wings prices rose by 25.6 percent since last year, and cost the brand $2.16 per pound during the third quarter. Restaurant level profit fell from 17.6 percent of restaurant sales during Q3 2016 to 16.6 percent of restaurant sales this year. "Boneless Wings" have made a huge impact on the "Chicken Wing Industry".
At the same time, Buffalo Wild Wings has dealt with a board battle throughout the year. CEO Sally Smith is set to retire after 21 years by the end of 2017. Meanwhile, Mercato Capital Management LP nominees Scott Bergren, the CEO of Pizza Hut, CIT Foods CEO Sam Rovit, and Mick McGuire were added to the board. McGuire, Marcato’s founder and managing partner, has long called for a plan for more than 500 company-owned units to be sold by 2020.
The brand had 611 franchised locations as of June 25, and 626 company-owned stores.
I put forth the following predictions:
A. Should RAORK acquire "Buffalo Wild Wings", see store Closings quickly.
B. New Marketing, New Social Media, New Strategies will be put forth, to turn the downward Wings free fall.
C. See "New Suits" put in positions of overseeing the Optics of increasing sales, bringing more customers, as well as enhancing the overall operation.
It's Football Season, "Buffalo Wild Wings" should be scoring touchdowns every weekend, between College Football and then NFL on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays.
Papa John's sales are down, with the CEO blaming the National Anthem knee bending as the cause for this lapse in sales.
FINALLY, WITH "THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS" BEING A HUGE NIGHT, THEN WITH "NEW YEAR'S EVE", THESE TWO NIGHTS ALONE SHOULD DO 30X -70X WHAT YOU NORMALLY DO ON THESE TWO WEEKLY NIGHTS.
