JUNE 2019 - IT'S A LONG HOT SUMMER FOR BARS!

   CLIMATE CHANGE TAX NOW OPTIONAL @ CALIFORNIA RESTAURANTS. EVEN THOUGH NATIONALLY FULL SERVICE RESTAURANT PRICES WERE UP 2-7% FROM A YEAR EARLIER.
   SAN FRANCISCO — Eating out is already getting more expensive, as restaurants nationwide raise prices to cover rising rents and employee costs.
Now, some California diners will get hit with a climate change tax.
Spurred by a Bay Area restaurateur, eateries across the state will have the option this fall of joining the Restore California Renewable Restaurant program, which adds 1% to the bill.
The program is optional for restaurants and consumers alike. Funds from the initiative go to help farmers make changes in their fields that would help capture carbon dioxide. CO2 is considered among the chief contributors to climate change.

“Across the country, restaurants are an $800 billion business and represent 1 in 10 U.S. workers, which is too much money and people to not be part of the solution,” says Anthony Myint, co-founder of Mission Chinese, a local restaurant that has been adding an optional 3% surcharge to its bills since last summer.
The new initiative comes against a backdrop of rising dining prices. In January, full-service restaurant prices were up 2.7 percent from a year earlier, well above the 1.6 percent annual rise for inflation overall, according to the consumer price index. This an excellent concept, who's time has come. Anthony Myint should be commended for creating this "Surcharge" and it's "Purpose". It's time has come. The National Restaurant Association should jump on this bandwagon and help create this program all across America.

WHAT YOU DO NEED IS SOMEONE WHO HAS TREMENDOUS INSIGHT INTO THOSE AREAS OF YOUR BUSINESS, THAT YOU ARE JUST GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS IN ORDER TO ADDRESS. IN MY CLUB OWNERSHIP, MY PARTNER WAS A "FOOD MAN SUPERB", HE WAS A "HANDS ON WITH A HAMMER, A DRILL, ANY KIND OF LABOR INTENSE WORK. HE WAS RESPECTFUL OF MY EXPERTISE AND I WAS OF HIS. WE WERE A MATCH MADE IN CLUB WORLD. WE COMPLIMENTED EACH OTHER AND GOT ALONG AS A "BFF" TO EACH OTHER AS WELL.

B. FIND SOMEONE WHO'S GOOD AT MAKING DECISIONS. WHAT YOU DON'T WANT IS SOMEONE INDECISIVE. YOU DON'T WANT A PROCRASTINATOR. YOU DON'T WANT A "PUT IT OFF TILL TOMORROW" KIND OF PARTNER. YOU WANT SOMEONE WHO CAN LISTEN TO THE SITUATION, AND PROMPTLY OFFER THEIR OWN ANSWER. THERE IS NO TIME FOR HESITATION,NOT NOW, NOT IN THIS ECONOMIC TIME.

C. FIND SOMEONE WHO IS RELIABLE. DOES THIS PERSON HAVE A SOLID STABLE LIFESTYLE? HAVE YOU VETTED THEM? HAVE THEY BEEN ARRESTED, IS THEIR CREDIT RATING POOR? DO THEY DRINK DAILY, DO THEY HAVE A DRUG PROBLEM, A SEX PROBLEM, WHAT IS THEIR FAMILY LIFE? YOU WANT TO KNOW IT ALL, BEFORE YOU EMBRACE THIS PERSON AS YOUR PARTNER. IT REQUIRES QUITE OFTEN RETAINING AN OUTSIDE FIRM TO DO THE DIGGING TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO HIDDEN ISSUES FROM PLAIN SIGHT. YOU CANNOT BE TOO CAREFUL IN THIS DAY AND AGE.

4. FINALLY, FIND SOMEONE YOU CAN HAVE FUN WITH.MY PARTNER AND I DID EVERYTHING TOGETHER, WITH OUR WIVES. IF THEY ARE GOING TO MAKE UP EXCUSES BEFORE THIS PARTNERSHIP IS EVEN SOLIDIFIED, THEN DON'T DO IT. LIFE IS TOO SHORT, WAY TOO SHORT FOR YOU TO HAVE A PARTNER, YOU CANNOT EVEN HAVE FUN WITH. YOU CAN TELL RIGHT OFF THE BAT, FROM YOUR FIRST MEETING, IF THEY ARE A FUN PERSON. IF THEY ARE A 'STIFF', THEN SHAKE THEIR HANDS AND "SAY HAVE A NICE DAY."IF YOU CAN'T WORK TOGETHER IN A FUN MANNER, HOW ARE YOU GOING TO RELAX IN ONE? A PARTNERSHIP IS LIKE A MARRIAGE. HALF THE MARRIAGES IN AMERICA FAIL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PERCENTAGES ARE FOR PARTNERSHIPS, BUT IT CAN'T BE TOO FAR BEHIND.
