JUNE 2019 - CANNABIS LOUNGES ARE NOW THE WAY!
Las Vegas, is the first locale, to legalize "Cannabis Lounges", where visitors, locals can relax and smoke to their heart's content. Vegas Hotels that house Nightclubs are in total shock. They didn't even see this coming? How they could not, defies logic to me. But, you don't need to be in Vegas and to open a "Cannabis Lounge" in your area.
"Cannabis Infused Cocktails", "CBD Craft Cocktails", feature what no other bar in your area is.
Be the first.
Check with local authorities about both "Cannabis" and "CBD", surely one or both are allowed to be served in cocktails?
Should "BOTH" be banned from your area now, RELAX, it's only a matter of time, before they are legal.
Be prepared to be the first to serve these very, very, unique drinks.
SOCIAL MEDIA IS THE MAIN FACTOR IN ATTRACTING YOUNG ADULTS TO YOUR BAR.
Way too many Bars use only Facebook and just put some content up now and then. These Bar Owners, like Many Restaurant Owners have little knowledge in knowing that "SOCIAL MEDIA" brings in BIG BUSINESS.
Being in the Food & Beverage Business, relying on foot traffic, delivery, pick up to generate revenue is not enough. You always have to be ahead of the rest.
Outside drinking, Outside dining is a must.
Enhancing, Expanding, Extending, Exciting, these four elements are what are going to bring your business to LIFE.
You watch "Restaurant Impossible" or "Bar Rescue" and you say to yourself, "I am so glad that is not me". BUT, if your biz is slow, your place looks hideous, your staff is burnt out, your Social Media is almost non existent, your atmosphere totally drab, then that is YOU on that TV Screen.
You have to eat, sleep and breathe this business.
You can't run another business at the same time or you will fail.
I know Bar and Grille Owners who started with just one location and now have ten.
Sure they are VERY SUCCESSFUL, but they are also worn out.
They even opened one location in an upscale strip center, that is nothing but a "Catering Venue".
It's design is dynamic. But, is it justified? We shall see facing the stiff competition that they do, if this Concept is going to fly or flop.
There is an entirely new Concept that is taking food/drink/music/fun away from bars, sports bars, bar & grilles, restaurants, and are "Craft Beer Breweries" that are "GastroPubs", featuring "Craft Beer Celebrations","Tours Of Their Breweries", "Food Trucks", "Bands", "Contests", that attract the exact same customer, everyone else is aiming for.
The reason they are very successful is, because their beer is unique and different from the usual brands, their approach, their marketing, their presentations are far and away ahead of what your venue is doing.
That's why I go back to "Cannabis" and "CBD", which are your new "WOW FACTORS".
Because YOU cannot compete with "CRAFT BEER GASTROPUBS, BREWERIES, that encompass A to Z in their Promotions. Limited Edition New Craft Beers and Souvenir T Shirts, Food Truck Rallies, Fresh New Bands that don't play everywhere in your area, No Cover Charge, held from afternoons into the night.
BARS IT'S MORE THAN HOW MANY DIFFERENT BRANDS OF "TEQUILA", OR "VODKA", OR "BOURBON", OR "WHISKEY" YOU DISPLAY BEHIND YOUR BAR!
SO MANY NEW BARS OPEN WITH A HUGE INVENTORY OF BRANDS AND BOTTLES OF SPECIFIC LIQUORS. BOASTING ABOUT YOUR SELECTION DOES NOT INSURE YOUR SUCCESS.
NOR DOES INVESTING SIX FIGURES INTO A "THEME" THAT YOU THINK YOUR AREA IS GOING TO EMBRACE?
WHAT ABOUT "THE ENERGY", "THE FUN", "THE WOW FACTORS" THAT INCLUDE PREMIER PROMOTIONS, THEME NIGHTS, EVENTS, PARTIES, CELEBRATIONS, GATHERINGS, PARTIES, CONCEPTS, EVEN UPBEAT, STYLISH, SOPHISTICATED CONTESTS.
THESE NIGHTS IN ADDITION TO CELEBRATING EVERY HOLIDAY THAT INVOLVES FOOD, DRINK, DANCE, MUSIC, DECORATIONS, COSTUMES.
HE HAS CREATED THOUSANDS OF THESE NIGHTS!
Taking Over A Closed Location.
Why, would you want to take a location , that sits dormant and was open with a Food/Drink Concept, but didn't make it?
What are you going to do, by rolling out your CONCEPT?
You are so challenged to make it work.
I have seen the same jinxed location opened by five different Owners who invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in the Property, which none of them owned, thus, making them "Capital Improvements" that stay with the Property. Yet they still unfortunately failed, one right after the other. Before you decide to take a losing location and attempt to make it a WINNER, email, RichUnger@promotingnightclubs.com
TARIFFS TAKING A HUGE TENNESSEE WHISKEY POUR!
Tennessee whiskey exports fell more than 30% in the fourth quarter as the sector faces headwinds from tariffs.
Tennessee exports dropped overall by 5% in the last three months of 2018 as automotive sales slowed and companies faced retaliatory tariffs from China and the European Union, according to Middle Tennessee State University's Tennessee Trade Report 4th Quarter 2018.
Whiskey exports, which have climbed steadily in past years, dropped to $135 million from $197 million, according to the report.
"The issue is how long we can expect the state’s sluggish performance to continue," the report said. "A real wild card in the deck, is the future of retaliatory tariffs and whether they expand. The bottom line is that 2019 appears ready to provide plenty of obstacles for Tennessee’s exporters."
Trump's trade war with China continues
The drop in state exports comes as U.S. negotiations over tariffs with China have stalled. President Donald Trump announced earlier this month the U.S. would raise tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese products and China since announced it would retaliate with increased tariffs on nearly $60 billion worth of American products. Brown-Forman Corp., owner of the Jack Daniel's brand, reported a 3% sales gain in the most recent quarter but said the growth was negatively affected by lower prices in some markets meant to offset new tariffs. The impact was mostly felt in Europe, according to the company's report.
Barrels of whiskey are being aged in one of the barrel
"We remain on track to deliver another strong year of results as cost discipline helped offset some of the large burden we are absorbing due to the retaliatory tariffs on American whiskey,” Brown-Forman CEO Lawson Whiting said in the company's most recent report.
Where Tennessee ranks for exports
The state's decline came as U.S. exports climbed by 3.4 percent in the same time period, the MTSU report said.
Foreign shipments dropped by nearly $500 million, and exports fell below $8 billion. The state ranked 38th among U.S. states for export performance. Auto shipments fell by more than $100 million, and global sales are expected to struggle next year, the report said.
Aluminum exports increased significantly, and waste and scrap exports with previous metals nearly doubled to $117 million.
Tennessee saw the greatest impact from trade losses in Canada and Latin America, with exports to Canada dropping by $230 million to $1.97 billion.
Exports were up in January compared to the previous year. These Tariffs need to be lifted, so that Whiskey, just like other American Commodities, can be shipped, and sold overseas with business as usual.
Before you rent a Billboard for your Restaurant, think of what it's potential is and where it is located?
I recently saw a "Seafood Restaurant" take a Billboard on a very busy highway, that easily is costing them at least $2500 a month if not more.
But they the "Seafood Restaurant Owners" did it all wrong.
1. The Billboard faces traffic going in the opposite direction of their "Seafood Restaurant". They are driving away from it, not to it.
2. The actual Billboard's artwork is hideous and confusing.
It has way too much content, far too much graphic art.
3. Drivers only have five to ten seconds to view this Billboard, but since the message is so convoluted, the "ROI" for this Billboard will be ZILCH.
Why do Bar, Restaurant, Sports Bar, Bar & Grille, Catering Hall OWNERS, all think they know about Marketing, Media, Making Business Happen?
So many have no clue.
This is a Perfect example.
