These are the Variations of Customers,your BAR wants to Attract, in addition to lots and lots of LADIES.
 I recently saw a Brand New Bar open and the first idea they did was on Thursday Nights, Ladies Drink Free from 9 to 11pm.
WHY?
WHAT Lady doesn't know how to have a Man buy her a drink,why should a Bar have too "BAR BEG" to have women frequent their bar? These Bar Owners that use this "Ladies Night" nonsense are wrong and are paying dearly for such a useless night.
 I can bring 200 Women into a bar on a Thursday Night without ever offering any drink specials at all!
It's only common sense.
It's only good and smart business.
It's only Image,Perception and CONCEPT.
 So many Hospitality Groups decide to open a Bar based on "Prohibition", based on "TEQUILA", based on "The Tropics", based on "New Orleans", based on "The British Invasion", so they spend hundreds of thousands of $ in Renovations. Yet they totally ignore "WOW FACTORS", I specifically refer to the fact, that a Couple come in, they order "Craft Cocktails" and $12 or more for each drink.
 The Drink is unique and has a real Zest to it's taste. But what else is there to do in this "Atmosphere"? They have no Premier Promotions,no Theme Nights, no Celebrations, no Parties, no Events, no Happenings, no Concepts. NOTHING. So, after investing all this money, where is the "ROI"?
These types of Bars, while they evoke a Time years ago, and a place far away, they are short lived. Why? Because once you visit, what is the reason to go back? What is going to keep you there? What is going to have you bring your friends there? Where is the "FUN"? Behind YOUR BAR?
 Again, I am not referring to your early hours, when your regular "Seat Covers" come in, and sit, sit, sit for a few hours. NO. I speak to the Hours from 10pm till closing. The FUN, WOW, FAB, PARTY TIME HOURS.
The Hours when each month, Tens Of Thousands of Dollars are to be made.
You do NOTHING TO DRAW IN CROWDS?
Why Not?
YOU NEED TO DO LOTS OF BIZ ! 
You should never ever allow your Bartenders to take a break and smoke coming back in with 'YUCK', smoker's breath. If they don't carry sugar free mint or flavored gum with them, then they don't smoke. PERIOD.
If they drink with a Customer, they are GONE.
If they dress like slobs they are gone.
If they use their cell phones while behind the bar working they are gone.
Either you run a consistently
Should you let someone go for reasons that violate your Policies and another bar calls up for a Reference, the only comment you can make is " I would not hire them again". Period. You cannot elaborate or further comment on the reasons for their termination.

MANAGERS SHOULD TABLE TOUCH !
WHAT THIS MEANS IS, MANAGERS SHOULD STOP BY EVERY TABLE AND ASK IF "EVERYTHING IS SATISFACTORY"?
THAT IS HOW YOU FIND OUT, IF YOUR SERVER IS DOING THEIR JOB, AND IF ANY CONCERNS HAVE ARISEN, THAT YOU CAN ADDRESS, AND TURN IT AROUND, SO THAT YOUR CUSTOMER IS PLEASED, INSTEAD OF ANGRY.
IT IS SO EASY TO MINIMIZE A SMALL PROBLEM.
YOU ACCOMPLISH THIS BY "TABLE TOUCHING".
MANAGERS WHO IGNORE THIS TECHNIQUE ARE NOT DOING THEIR JOBS.
THEY ARE DOING A GREAT DISSERVICE TO THEIR ESTABLISHMENT.

  Instead of 'ALL BLACK", from now on, have your Servers wear 'Black/Stripe" Aprons. Change it up, instead of the boring, the usual, the ugly black look, and go"Black/Stripe", they add so much to the appearance of your staff. It also boosts morale.

There are so many fundamental problems that should have been addressed prior to even hosting these Hotel Pool Parties, that Hotel Management simply ignored. Now they face the strong possibility of losing their liquor license.
 When you have the Chief of Police of the entire City Police Department responding to a "RIOT" caused by your actions and lack of, your entire image, reputation, and ability to operate are all in pure chaos.
The Pool Party @ the Hotel in the Article above had poor Management and Oversight.
They had no Security or Hosts on the pool deck, or the pool bar or the pool area, none.
They offered "Bottomless Drinks" from 11am to 1pm, what kind of logic, common sense prevailed with this ridiculous drink promotion?
There was easily over serving, who was checking IDs, who was in charge?
 When Police have to call every Unit in the area, and as well as two Sargents, a Lieutenant, just to quell the fights, the out of control behavior, both in the pool area and on the streets, this is all the fault of Hotel Management.
 This Hotel now has it's liquor license in jeopardy as it should be.
Way too many Hotels, use their pools as Party Places on Saturdays and Sundays, giving no thought to controlling the checking of ids, to maintaining the right to refuse service to anyone, to being extremely careful in not serving beyond a guest's ability to consume. In having proper Hosts and Management on the premises, in having a "Zero Tolerance Policy" for any kind of rude behavior, language, and attitude.
This should of been set in stone from their first Pool Party, instead it was never addressed at all, so it got worse and finally turned into a total nightmare.
