YOUR CLUB HAS TO DO
MORE, OFFER MORE & OPEN MORE IN ORDER TO SURVIVE!
By RichUnger@promotingnightclubs.com
Almost every day I am
besieged by e-mails and phone calls from Nightclub Owners, frustrated
Managers and disappointed employees. Their comments are always the
same, From the Nightclub Owner:
"Why aren't
patrons coming into my Club?".
"I am spending money on radio and not getting any results."
"I am listening to everyone who tells me what to do and the end
result is my club is losing market share."
"I am closing down more week day nights and becoming to reliant on
just the weekend nights to carry the club."
From Nightclub Managers
it's the same old DR Phil Frustration:
"Why won't my
Owner spend the necessary money to pack the club?"
"My Owner does everything wrong and then blames me for the
outcome."
"The Owner is never here and he is such a procrastinator on making
decisions the club is suffering big time."
And finally from the
DJs:
"This club could
be packed if the Owner and Manager would just listen to me".
"My Manager is so out of touch with what this club should be doing,
he only cares about collecting the cover charge and selling drinks?
"I am so frustrated, this club has such great potential but the
Manger and the Owner both treat myself and the rest of the employees like
garbage"
Yup, these are the
classic remarks I read and hear on a daily basis from all parties
involved. The evolution of a nightclub into a "hot spot"
requires blood sweat and tears. It's not about giving away the
house, it's not about letting patrons in for free, it's not about copying
your competition, it's all about your club's own personality, identity and
image. Just as Simon Cowell on "American Idol," I have
zero patience for ignorance, arrogance and ego.
I have great admiration
for Owners and Managers that are not afraid or embarrassed to ask for
direction, that realize their club is heading in the wrong direction and
want to change courses, rather quickly. There is no passing the buck
in this industry, you can attend conventions, listen to seminars, drive by
your competition, but at the end of the night, it's what's outside and
inside your club that tells the tale of the register tape. The key
to packing your club is, as my Mantra always goes "Give Them The
FUN."
You are not doing any
more or any different than, every other club in your area.
Your club is so
predictable, so boring, and you refuse to accept it and change it.
You tolerate patrons
that are rude, crude and lewd, just for their almighty buck, you are
losing good staff and your club is fast becoming known as the "unplace"
to go.
As the ghostbusters use
to say " Who Ya Gonna Call," and I add to that, " before
it's too late."
Finally here's the
"Richie Question of the Month" what kind of liquor and what
flavor is the fastest growing segment in the industry right now?
