TALK ABOUT SLOW, FUN IT UP!

This is September, and "SLOW" is the word …unless, you decide to go
against the tide and "SAY NO TO SLOW." Did you know that a recent survey
shows only 10% of the public that goes out goes to Nightclubs? So not only
is it "SLOW," but you need to "GO" to pack your Club.
More and More Potential Clubbers and Patrons want "FUN." By a ratio of 8
out of 10 people who go to clubs, they want "FUN." Far too often Clubs and
Bars both react to a slowdown in the worst way; they "OVERREACT" by trying
anything and everything expecting Instant results, only to be devastated,
when there are no results.
With Gas Prices sky high and potential patrons being taken for a cash cow
ride at the pump, Nightclubs need to moo a lot Louder with "THE FUN." It's
only "SLOW" because you allow it to be. Colleges are back in session, it's
time to reach beyond your normal clubber base and build new nights, based
not on what your giving away, but what your doing. Raffles, Drawings are
so far from where you need to be. Ladies nights and local bands are both
zero nights for growth and Revenue potential.
It takes CONFIDENCE in your "GAME PLAN", you have to believe in What your
doing, and do what you believe in. It takes RESILIENCE in being consistent
and relentless in pursing a synergy of packing your club and emptying out
your competition.
Remember, all the new patrons who pack your club, all the additional
income you take in, is not from new people in your Community and it's not
fresh cash, it's coming out of another club's registers. There are only so
many disposable dollars spent on night life, and with Gas so high, it cuts
directly into those specific dollars. That's why you have to be razor
smart and razor sharp in every dollar you spend, and every promotion you
present. Otherwise, you’re "SLOW" and nothing eats away at morale and
great expectations than one "SLOW" night after another.
Driving past your competition's parking lot is not going to pack yours.
Sending people into other clubs to find out how they are doing is not
going to put a line outside yours. You want to reach that "Sweet Spot" of
the Night Life Adventure, where you are the dominator and not the
doomsayer.
It's not a matter of hosting one huge event on one night, and then having
nothing to fall back on. It's not practical to simply copy what another
club is doing, if you didn't do it first and become the originator why be
a duplicator? It's only "SLOW" because you lack the drive, the urge and
the motivation to change what is right in front of you?
How long can a slow club sustain the losses, the lack of patrons, the
dismal sales, the missing revenue? I had a Club in Honolulu contact me;
they are spending on radio and in entertainment publications and drawing
nobody…. Now, not only do they have a thriving tourist industry that they
should lockstep with, but they need to romance their locals as well. They
can have the best of both worlds, if, and only if they stop their basic,
boring badly nightly offerings.
It's only "SLOW" because you and your manager argue over what to do, how
to do it and why your doing it. If you’re so smart, why are you so slow?
If your club is so popular why is it so empty? I just packed a small
upscale bar/club that only holds 150 people every night in August. How?
With unique, exotic and captivating Promotions that had absolutely nothing
to do with any kind of cheap drinks or beer. You can either appeal to the
trash or the class. But I, for one, refuse to acquiesce to "SLOW" Nights.
I refuse to surrender. Why own a club and open those doors, turn on that
air, start that payroll going, and sit there empty? You either "FUN IT UP"
with what no other club, no other bar is doing in your area, or your
"SLOW." You either take the lead and show your patrons the way or you sit,
suffer and sweat.
Remember you have the power to "SLOW" to "GO," from your DJ to your format
from your dress code to your promotions, from your attitude to your
staff's morale, it's all incumbent upon you.
Right now you need to take your Wednesdays, your Thursdays, your Fridays
and your Saturdays and pack them. Not wait for Halloween, you can't afford
to. Stop listening to radio salespeople and every media person who
promises you a packed night, if you spend, spend, spend. Spend does not
equate into stopping "SLOW."
Accountability, you have to justify and be accountable for every facet of
your Club or Bar's operation, stop ignoring matters, issues, situations
and problems that need your attention NOW. The Cover Charge stops with
you! COLLABORATION, you must join forces with viable resources that can
enhance your club's position in the Community and expand your patron
reach. Do not be so dismissive of potential proposals, that will greatly
enrich you, even if you are leary of them because they are new, fresh and
different.
Perhaps it's you who are too stagnant and scared of change. INITIATIVE,
you always must "take the shot", when I bought my first Nightclub, my
Partner and I named our Corporation, "WE TOOK THE SHOT, INC.", because you
must, without hesitation always "take the shot." It's that one moment of
hesitation that can cost you thousands and destroy any opportunity to jump
start a "SLOW" night. So, "Git R Dun" and lose the slow and Let's get the
"GO", call me at 941-921-7027 or e-mail
