VIOLENCE, DRUGS, BAD BEHAVIOR, ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
NIGHTCLUBS UNDER SIEGE!!!!!
By Rich Unger
In Vegas, The Venetian Hotel shut down it's "Club C2k" due to
drug use, a drug induced death, door personnel attacking patrons, using racial
slurs and acts of violence against patrons, in Fort Lauderdale Club Atlantis
fights the City Commission who wants 18 year olds banned from Nightclubs, in
Spokane Washington, supposedly an African American Woman was asked to leave a
nightclub because she was wearing symbolic head wrap, in Atlanta,
shootings near the "Buckhead" nightclub district are rampant.
It's a War Zone out there.........Nightclub Owners and Nightclub Managers must, I repeat must take the
following measures in order to protect and to ensure the safety of it's patrons.
A. Metal detectors should be mounted on front doors and when they
sound, patrons should be asked to present their metal possessions.
B. A dress code should be in place that requires Male patrons to dress
for success and not for failure with sloppy jeans, shirts hanging out,
sneakers, pants worn below the waist. Your dress code is a direct reflection of your Atmosphere and how you
want your patrons to behave and conduct themselves in your club.
C. Security Cameras, in New York City, they are embraced by Club Owners
for the obvious reasons and for the not so obvious ones.
D. Plainclothes Security People, both male and female who enforce a
zero tolerance policy for drugs and drug use both in the club and in the
restrooms.
E. Trained and low profile Security personnel, you don't need the guy
with the biggest pencil neck and the most threatening, you need cool, calm,
collected Security People who can defuse a situation fast and take it
outside.
F. A set of Club Courtesies that simply states no behavior other than
polite behavior will be acceptable in this club.
G. A serious consideration should be made to banning anyone under the
age of 21 from your club, unless it is a specified night. The facts are many kids today are belligerent, rude, foul, and punks
and for you to be so desperate as to let them in, merely for their
cover charge and then be concerned the entire night if they are drinking, or
damaging or damning your club is just not worth it.
H. Weekly Mandatory meetings with your employees, ZERO TOLERANCE of any
type of drug use or drinking while on the job, or sexual harassment of any
female employee.
Times have changed, no longer can you simply play big shot and open
your club and ignore the illegal activities going on, the misbehavior of
your employees and the arrogant attitudes that engulf your club.
It's time to take your club back and have your patrons play by your
rules, or not at all. I would rather establish a NO NONSENSE Strict adhered to Policy, than
have to tolerate unacceptable behavior, conduct and actions by either my
employees or my patrons.
