SPECIAL REPORT VIOLENCE & FIRES IN CLUBS, STOP IT NOW!

IN MEMORY OF CHICAGO NIGHTCLUB PATRONS WHO DIED UNTIMELY AND UNNECESSARY DEATHS

IT'S OUT OF CONTROL.
IT'S DEADLY.
IT'S SCARING.
IT'S A CRISIS.
AND EVERY CLUB OWNER AND CLUB MANAGER CAN STOP THE CYCLE OF CLUB VIOLENCE RIGHT NOW.
IMPLEMENT THESE STEPS NOW, NO EXCUSES, NO DELAYS, NO PROCRASTINATION:

1. Patrons are wand down with a hand held wand that detects knives, guns, any metal of any kind.
   NO TEAR GAS, NO PEPPER SPRAY, NO MACE, NO DEFENSIVE DEVICES OR WEAPONS OF ANY TIME OR ALLOWED IN THE CLUB.
    
2. There should be a double clicker count going on, so that the door staff and management know the patron count at each time with a turnstile for those departing.
   It's of monumental importance, to know exactly how many are in your club and when.
    
3. ZERO TOLERANCE ON FAKE OR QUESTIONABLE D'S.
   IF YOU HAVE THE LEAST CONCERN IT'S NOT REAL, DON'T HONOR IT.
   IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE NEW ID DETECTOR GET ONE, BUT NEVER EVER GIVE THE PATRON THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT.  REFUSE THEIR ENTRY AND MOVE ON.
    
4. Institute a strict dress code, thus by denying entry to those potential patrons dressed like slobs, dressed in gang colors and dressed in Big Letter Athletic Wear, you eliminate a huge factor in behavior problems inside the club.  NO HATS, NO BAGGY JEANS NO SLOB LIKE CLOTHING, NO BIG JEWELRY.   THAT'S RIGHT YOU HEARD ME THIS IS THE NEW DRESS CODE.
    
5. Have a zero tolerance policy regarding drugs, any patron who engages in drug use or drug sales in any club, should be banned.  ALL KNOWN DRUG DEALERS ARE BARRED.  PERIOD.   ANY PATRON CAUGHT USING DRUGS IS BARRED PERIOD.
    
6. ALL EMERGENCY DOORS SHOULD BE SHUT, BUT NOT LOCKED AND A DOORMAN OR STAFF PERSON SHOULD BE AT THAT DOOR ON ALL BUSY NIGHTS.   I REPEAT ALL BUSY NIGHTS.   Stop giving the liquor and beer away in a price war and start bringing patrons to America's Clubs for the "FUN".
   Clubs are experiencing a very difficult time, because they are giving their liquor and beer away, and they are selling their liquor and beer at ridiculous prices, and not making any money, in order to compete.
   It's pure stupidity and arrogance.
   Nobody wins.
   BRING IN "THE FUN", STOP THE GIVEAWAYS AND THE CHEAP DRINKS AND START GIVING YOUR PATRONS "THE FUN".
    
7. Work with local Police Departments to insure safety and calmness thru the area.
    
8. Appeal to different segments of the Community on different nights to draw fresh faces to these clubs, instead of the usual suspects.
   Without a unified Front AND WITHOUT ADDRESSING THE VIOLENCE AND IT'S CONSTANT UGLY HEAD REARING, AMERICA'S NIGHTCLUBS FACE A DAUNTING AND DANGEROUS FUTURE.
   A MAJOR DEBATE SHOULD BEGIN OVER LETTING 18 AND UP IN THE SAME NIGHTS AS 21 AND UP.
    
9. When dealing with a "club promoter" check out their background, hold back on paying them until the entire event is over.....
   make sure all agreements and conditions are in
   black and white.

RHODE ISLAND NIGHTCLUB FIRE, TOTALLY PREVENTABLE.
NO POLYTECHNICS SHOULD BE USED IN A NIGHTCLUB WITHOUT THE EXPRESS WRITTEN PERMISSION OF THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT.

NO BAND SHOULD ALLOW SUCH SPECIAL EFFECTS WITHOUT FIRST MEETING WITH LOCAL FIRE OFFICIALS AND INSURING THE CLUB'S INTERIOR IS FIRE PROOF, AND SAFE FOR SUCH THEATRICS.
THE RHODE ISLAND NIGHTCLUB FIRE, WAS A TRAGEDY, THAT SHOULD have BEEN AND COULD have BEEN PREVENTED.

THE FIRST PRIORITY IN ANY NIGHTCLUB ENTERTAINMENT SHOULD BE THE SAFETY OF THE PATRONS.
THIS IS MONUMENTAL.

THIS RHODE ISLAND NIGHTCLUB IS AT FAULT AND IGNORED THE SAFETY OF IT'S PATRONS AND THE CHECKS AND BALANCES THAT GO INTO PLANNING SUCH A STAGE SHOW AS "GREAT WHITE" PRESENTS.
OVER 96 PATRONS ARE DEAD, AND THAT IS A TRAGEDY THAT SHOULD have NEVER HAPPENED.
